Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Something Barked Too- How we Incorporated All Our Dogs in Our Wedding

Our wedding day was filled with love, laughter, and countless special touches that made it uniquely ours. One of the most meaningful ways we personalized the day was by honoring our beloved dogs—past and present. While they couldn’t physically be there at the venue, we found heartfelt and fun ways to make sure they were included in our celebration.

Our Wedding Entourage (Paw Edition)

On our wedding website, we introduced our dogs as part of the wedding entourage. Just like our bridesmaids, groomsmen & sponsors, each pup had a special role to play:

Our Wedding Crest

To make their presence even more special, we had each of their faces illustrated into our custom wedding crest. This crest wasn’t just a detail—it became one of the most meaningful design elements of the day. It appeared on our cocktail napkins, our welcome sign, and small stationery items, so every guest was reminded that our pups were part of the celebration.

A Special Tribute to Brutus

Of course, I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without honoring Brutus, my best friend who had been with me from my teenage years into adulthood. Though he’s no longer here, I wanted him to have a place in our day. As my “something blue,” I tied his blue collar around my bouquet so he could walk me down the aisle alongside my parents. It was one of the most emotional and meaningful details of the day, and it gave me comfort knowing Brutus was with me in spirit.

For us, our dogs are family. Including them in our wedding was more than just a fun idea—it was a way to celebrate the unconditional love, companionship, and joy they’ve given us over the years. Whether through titles on our website, their presence in our crest, or the sentimental tribute to Brutus, they were all a part of our story, and now a part of our marriage.
